A Letter from Chancellor LeBlanc

Chancellor Elva LeBlanc, PhD
Dear Friends and Partners,
As we celebrate Tarrant County College’s founding 60 years ago, we remain laser focused on ensuring that all who seek a great education can attain it. Now especially, we stand ready to blaze new trails as a premier partner in the region, connecting students, educators and employers to achieve remarkable outcomes — academically, personally and professionally.
Tarrant County relies on us for open access to higher education. Delivering on the community’s investment to transform lives will always be our top priority. From the moment they arrive, TCC Trailblazers know they are family, nurtured by faculty and staff who revel in their victories.
These students’ possibilities are endless. These students’ stories are inspirational. Like business major Tam Ho, recipient of the Dr. Norman D. Ellis Memorial Scholarship for Management Studies, who learned English at 16 and flourished as a senator in TCC’s Student Government Association. Or Trailblazer Omar Choudhury, who received the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association Scholarship and plans to earn a bachelor’s in aeronautical engineering after he finishes here.
The Ted and Cuba Webb Scholarship was just what Jack Weir needed to get back on track following several personal setbacks. A 4.0 student, he’s pursuing an Associate of Science degree and volunteering big time in his community. And there’s Isabel Arroyo, who moved from Mexico to Fort Worth to help her ailing grandmother, then enrolled at TCC to further her education. The Cabela’s Stars Scholarship provided support to complete her Associate of Arts. Now she’s a UTA Maverick.
Thanks to your robust, visionary support of the TCC Foundation, students like these can anticipate a lifetime of prosperous tomorrows. And when our students prosper, we all do. By any metric, Tarrant County College is a guiding star for high-quality educational experiences and lasting economic impact. Join me as together we drive our College toward a vibrant and ever more dynamic future.
