Birdville ISD Scholarship

A scholarship established through Birdville ISD's endowed scholarship funding that works in partnership with Tarrant County College. This scholarship is designed to support recent graduates of Birdville ISD in their pursuit of further academic excellence.

This scholarship is for tuition only and does not cover books or digital material fees. Students must take a minimum of six credit hours and can take up to a maximum of 15 credit hours. Maximum award per semester is $960.

This program is available for two consecutive semesters and is only available for the fall and spring semesters.

Eligbility

To be eligible, you must be:

  • A graduating senior who attended a BISD school for both junior and senior years. Students graduating early must have earned their credits for their junior and senior year at a BISD school.
  • Complete all new-to-college student requirements for TCC, including:
    • Submitting a TCC admissions application (please ensure correct social security number is included so your FAFSA will link to your TCC student record).
    • Submissitting official high school transcript(s).
    • Completing all steps on new-to-college checklist (PDF)Listen.
  • Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial eligibility for the BISD Scholarship.
    • Add TCC's school code, 003626 to the FAFSA.
    • Students who are undocumented must complete and submit the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) to Student Financial Aid Services.
    • Submission and verification (if selected) must be completed by the semester deadline. Verification refers to a random selection by the Department of Education, where student must provide additional documents to Student Financial Aid Services in order to verify the information provided on the FAFSA. If you're selected for verification, the process must be completed to determine BISD scholarship eligibility.
    • You should submit the FAFSA/TASFA by no later than June 1 for the fall semester and November 1 for the spring semester to allow adequate time for processing prior to the semester deadline.
  • Enroll at TCC for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.
  • Enroll at TCC during the first fall or spring semester immediately following graduation (except in cases of deferment due to active U.S. military service).
  • Meet with an advisor and contact the TCC Foundation office before dropping any course(s).

You are ineligible if you:

  • Receive at least $960 per semester from other TCC financial assistance programs or federal/state funding.
  • Receive the Stars of Tomorrow Scholarship.  

If you receive less than $960 per semester from other TCC financial assistance programs or federal/state funding, you may receive the difference between that funding amount and $960.

You will receive a second semester scholarship if you achieve a minimum 2.5 GPA and completes a minimum of 6 credit hours in the first semester.

Next Steps

  • Check your student email account (my.tccd.edu) often as all TCC communication and documentation is sent to this email.
  • Check the status of your FAFSA application on the Financial Aid portal.
  • Students who begin in the spring semester will need to complete a new FAFSA/TASFA for the following fall semester.
  • TCC staff can only speak to students regarding their record. If you would like to give TCC permission to speak to someone else (including your parents), you must fill out and submit the Waiver of Academic Privacy (PDF)Listen.
