Establishing a Scholarship

Establishing a scholarship at the TCC Foundation is one way to assist TCC students and give back to the community. When you support a scholarship, you can feel confident you are investing in our community's future.

  1. Determine the type of scholarship you wish to fund.
    • A $6,000 gift establishes a named scholarship that provides up to three (3) academic years (fall and spring awards based upon applicable tuition rates). During the course of this 3-year spend-down process, other contributions may be made to the scholarship fund, thus increasing the life of the award.
    • A $30,000 gift establishes a named and endowed scholarship that provides a scholarship award in perpetuity. The award is determined by applying the TCCF current spending rate to a 3 year rolling average balance. The spending rate is monitored and reviewed annually by the TCCF Board. The gift amount may be a one-time contribution or an amount that is accumulated over a period of two (or more) years.
  2. Determine the focus of your scholarship.
    • Foundation staff will assist you in developing the scholarship criteria, which might reflect the desire to support a specific discipline of study, academic standing or financial need.
    • The scholarship may be named in honor or memory of an individual or organization.
  3. Authorize/sign scholarship establishment documents.

    • The scholarship may be named in honor or memory of an individual or organization.
  4. Make your gift!
